Tom Eastman (center) of the Friends of Tuckerman board is shown with Jake and Al Risch at a recent gathering at Horsefeathers. Al and Jake accepted Tom's excellence in newspaper features writing award in Sun Valley at the annual conference of the North American Snowports Journalists Association March 27. One of Tom's three stories in the competition was on the Inferno and Wildcat Wildfire. Tom writes for the Conway Daily Sun.

Stefan Hausberger Owner of Zimmermann's Sports stores in NH  has been elected to serve on the BOD of FOTR  on the marketing and Race committees  He also is going to Preserve & Protect one of the old Avalanche Warning Boards in his North Conway! It will be on display as soon as the New Boards are completed, stay tuned to future developments.

Board of Directors and Marketing Chairman has recently become a sustaining Charter Member by the donation of $1000 to help continue our mission.


 

Dana B. Lee elected to the Board of Directors at the past meeting has also joined a growing elite group of sustaining Charter Members.  He is the Owner of Lee Volvo Metro West.

In 2009 we will be gathering more footage and interviews with VIPs to be included in a professional promotional production. It has been one of my dreams and goals to promote our mission and educate new and seasoned visitors of the safest way to enjoy the backcountry experience of the Whites, particularly the ravines and gullies of Mount Washington.

We have started a new fundraising project to replace the warning boards in the ravine please go to Avalanche Board if you would like to contribute.
 

VOLUNTEERING YOUR TALENTS AND THE 3 P'S CORPS!
Okay we have finally put the finishing touches on the new
3P'S CORPS Volunteer section. Check it out the idea here is to recruit people for events or trail work or if you have a special talent that you think can benefit FOTR then let us know and we will find a spot for you.

 

Please remember to always check the current weather (there is snow on the mountain) before heading up no matter how nice it may seem out there and always be safe! Looks like winter has set in again!!
